Shan, who has captained in Pakistan Super League and county cricket in England, confirmed that Babar’s position will not be changed during the Test tour.

‘‘Babar Azam is our best batter and we won’t want to change his position,’’ ‘‘Imam Ul Haq and Abdullah Shafique have done very well in the Test over the year or so and won’t changed the settled opening stand. I have played at No 3 and want to get used to it.’’

The left handed batter also gave the answer of having two wicketkeepers in the team.
‘‘Sarfaraz Ahmad did really well in the home test series against New Zealand and he is our well settled wicketkeeper, while Mohammad Rizwan was excellent in the Tests in Australia in 2019. Rizwan can play as a batter too and we will se what combination to go within Australia.’’

Shan Masood also said that the doors to the national team are open for Ahmed Shahzad. He confirmed in a presser that anyone who is performing in domestic cricket will be considered for the national team.

‘‘ The doors are open for Ahmed Shahzad. Anyone who is performing in domestic cricket will be considered, we have a template of cricket we wants players to be adopting and as long as they do that, they will be picked,’’ Shan said.

It must be noted that Ahmed Shahzad is the top scorer in the ongoing National T20 Cup. The right handed batter amassed 213 in just three innings with a staggering 106.50 average and helped Lahore Whites to qualify for the Super Eight round.
